biography

Mark Corroto, adopted the moniker FaGaGaGa after the dada artist Max Ernst term Fatagaga (“Fabrication de tableaux garantis gazométriques”) Interested in alternative music since the 80’s and also working as  a  Jazz critiques he became interested in mail-art in the late 80’s. He organised several mail-artprojects and travelled through Europe with his future wife Melinda Otto in 1991. Ray Johnson wrote a letter to their dog Izzy. Ray died in 1995 and the Corroto’s organized the Fake Ray Johnson week-end for the mail-artists who came to visit Columbus OHio for the retrospective of Ray Johnson at the Wexner in 2000.
