biography

Groh was born in Neisse, today Poland in 1936. He studied art pedagogics and art history and did his doctorate as PhD at the Carl-von-Ossietzky University in Oldenburg with a thesis on “Der neue DaDaismus an der amerikanischen Westküste”/”The new DaDaism at the American West Coast” (Maro-Verlag, Augsburg). He brought American Mail Art to Europe and connected the West with Eastern Europe, especially Poland and the former GDR.
Dr. Klaus Groh lead the Micro Hall Art Center and the cabaret stage Literaturium from 1971 to 2006 as well as the IAC (International Artists’ Cooperation) from 1969 to 1990. He furthermore edited the IAC brochure “IAC-INFO”, a predecessor of a lot of Mail Art letters and of the current network. He lives and works in Edewecht.
